President Zero: Jobs Report Renders Obama Speechless
The Labor Day weekend jobs report was a big fat zero - NO net jobs. (And to think if I had just taken that job selling Chevy Volts, the number would have been ONE!) President Obama, who loves any opportunity and excuse to make a comment or speech after any report, said nothing and slinked off to Camp David to work on his upcoming Jobs/Campaign speech.
The president dithered on jobs the past thirty months. Instead he concentrated on ramming Obamanable-Care and Dodd Frank down our throats. Of course, there were the quick, idiotic and expensive "fixes" like cash for clunkers, cash for caulkers, stimulus, car bailouts, mortgage bailouts -- you name it, he threw money at it. He had a super majority of Dumbocrats in both the House and Senate his first two years so he has no excuse for not getting his way to create jobs.
Now he will try the only tactic he has left -- "Putting Country Ahead of Party" when he tries to convince the nation that it's his way or the unpatriotic, Republican highway. He will bore everyone to death with his usual call for "investments" in education, infrastructure, and more stimulus. The Tax, Spend, Regulate, and Blame game will be re-packaged but it is too late for Obama, The recession die has been cast and his re-election chances are approaching ZERO, like his jobs record.
His only chance of getting his new jobs program passed is to invite David Copperfield to the jobs speech. Only David Copperfield can make the recalcitrant Republicans disappear.
The uncertainties of Obamanable-Care's costs is one of the big reasons job growth is pathetic.
