Will the Arab Spring Turn into the Arab Fall Hurricane?
Obama could not resist taking some credit for "victory" in Libya today.The pictures of these thugs dancing in the streets of Tripoli shooting their AK-47's in the air looked like a commercial for Dial Soap. Anyone who thinks getting rid of Khadaffy Duck will produce a democracy with all these rival factions fighting for power is delusional. This includes the president and the great secretary of state, Hillary Clinton.
We spent hundreds of billions of dollars "liberating" Iraq and the place is still a mess. In spite of hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops stationed in Iraq, it is still unstable. To think that Libya will turn out well with no outside help is a joke. We should stay out completely and keep our wallets closed.
Not many "revolutions" turn out well. The American revolution was the great exception and we still had a civil war to sort our problems out 100 years later.
We keep helping to topple Middle Easter leaders and the result will be more instability and a greater threat to Israel. The highly touted "Arab Spring" could turn out to be an Arab Fall Hurricane, with plenty of violence and chaos. Stay tuned, Mr. President, and put your telepromter away. It is going to get UGLY!
Maybe Mr. Obama should ask the U.N. to take charge.
