S & P to the Beltway Blowhards: It's the Debt, Stupid

S & P, who missed the financial meltdown in 2008, decided to get ahead of the deficit curve and downgraded our debt from the coveted AAA status to AA+. They had been telegraphing this downgrade for weeks so it wasn't a big surprise. The White House and S & P argued over a $2 trillion "math error" -- don't you love how nobody really knows how to audit the government's books?

S & P did the American people a favor by issuing this downgrade. Everyone in America, except the liberals, knows that the beltway blowhards, led by the Three Stooges of Accounting, Obama, Boehner, and Reid, use fuzzy math and phoney cuts to "balance" our books. The recent debt ceiling deal with its $2 trillion in cuts over 10 years was a joke because 70% ot the cuts do not occur until the year 2017. S & P made it clear to the Three Stooges: "It's the Debt, Stupid, not the Debt Ceiling" that matters to your credit rating.

The debt deal did nothing to stop this mindless budgeting process of ever-increasing base-line budget increases. So what will the blowhards do? The Dumbocrats are already seizing the opportunity to call for tax increases on the rich -- all those evil people making $250K and more. The mantra of "shared sacrifice", where the people who already pay most of the taxes will be asked to pay more, while the 51% of the people who pay no income taxes will continue to get a free pass. The Republicans will continue to blindly support the bloated defense department budget and its ill-conceived mind-set-- mindless Middle East wars, out-dated Cold War military bases and occupations, and the U.S. as the world's policeman.

It's time for the Democrats and Republicans to face reality that we can no longer keep funding entitlements and defense at their current and projected budget rates, or our country will face financial ruin. We need an intelligent discussion and a willingness to cut back on EVERYTHING.

Obama has shown a failure of leadership because he is more interested in wealth re-distribultion. He went on a foreign apology tour the past couple of years. It's time he went on television to apologize to the American people for destroying the American economy with his anti-business and  tax, spend, and re-distribute the wealth philosophy.
