The beltway is notorious for using buzzwords like "transparency", "fundamentally sound",  "hope and change", "social justice",  and "shared sacrifice". They are tossed around so often that they become part of everyone's talking points. One of the current  words the blowhards love to use is "transitory"-- a favorite word of Ben Bernanke. He uses this word, which means temporary or lasting a very short time, to explain away the spikes of inflation in food and energy.

I think the word transitory can be used to describe Barack Obama's presidential style - TRANSITORY. He drifts along from day to day, giving speeches around the country, one day about the border, the next day about health care, another day about raising taxes on the greedy rich people, another day about the evil oil companies. etc, etc, etc, He can't seem to focus on anything for more than one day. His modus operandi is "a speech a day keeps the problems at bay".

Meanwhile, the real problems of the country do not get addressed. The only way to deal with them is not with transitory speeches, but with real hard work and focusing on each problem. A stupid speech a day just doesn't cut it. The country is going broke, our borders are a mess, we are waging a half-ass war against Libya, and the unemployment rate is 9%. We have no energy policy except to villify big oil. His solution to our deficits is to tax the people who create jobs.

Nobody said being president is an easy job. President Obama seems to be having a good time, yukking it up about alligators and moats and helping a 43 year old pregnant federal worker get her job back. However, the job requires much more than that. Our  house is on fire and all this guy can do is make speeches. He is clearly in campaign mode, but his transitory management style does not work
