Big Oil v. The Beltway Blowhards

The Spotted Owl is Laughing at all of us

The economic genius-in-chief's solution to high oil prices is to eliminate the $4 billion in subsidies to the oil companies. What a great idea. If  the blowhards eliminate these subsidies, the oil companies will pass the extra cost on to the consumer.  Naturally, the price of gas will go up. Meanwhile, Obama's buddies at GE will continue to get subsidies for such green projects as wind energy and solar power.

The U.S. has "invested" hundreds of billions of dollars on these green projects over the years and what has it gotten us -- 3% of our energy supply. Meanwhile, the natural gas, oil and coal industries all get vilified for supplying the other 97% of our energy needs.

The cost of food is skyrocketing also because Obama and his tree hugging pals choose to subsidize the ethanol industry. Burn food, not gas ... another brilliant, progressive idea.

I have no problem getting rid of the oil subsidies. But we also need to get rid of all the other subsidies like, milk, tobacco, wind power, solar power, etc. I keep hearing how we have a spending problem in Washington. Yes we do, but it is compounded by a progressive, stupidity problem that is beyond belief.

The cry of Drill, Baby, Drill is derided by the left. But  it makes more sense to me than Stupid, Baby, Stupid.
