Harry Reid and the Dodocrats Cherrypick the Unemployment Stats

Hapless Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader, reacted yesterday to the bogus 8.9% unemployment rate. In a prepared statement, he said:

"Today's news that unemployment fell and we added nearly two hundred thousand jobs is more proof that as our economy continues to bounce back, we need to do stay focused on creating jobs and protecting our fragile recovery. Families in Nevada and around the country are still struggling. That's why we cannot afford Republicans' reckless spending plan, which economists from across the spectrum have said would destroy hundreds of thousands of American jobs."

This is typical Dodocratic pretzel logic. Grab a stat that shows any kind of improvement and blame the Republicans for trying to ruin the economy with a "reckless" spending plan. Does anybody really believe these unemployment statistics? I don't. There are so many adjustments and the numbers do not include people who have given up looking for work, are underemployed, or part-timers who are looking for full-time work. Reid refuses to attack the bloated federal budget while proclaiming that any cut in federal spending would be horrendous to the economy.

Dear Harry, Nancy, and Barack: here is a statistic that I can believe in: $3.65 per gallon gasoline and $3.75 per gallon heating oil. Gas and heating oil have skyrocketed over $1.00 per gallon the last six months. Food prices are skyrocketing while the idiots in Washington tell us to BURN CORN, NOT FUEL for ethanol for our gas tanks.

The next time you unemployed folks out there gas up at the pump, thank the Dodocrats who love to cherry pick any bogus statistic to promote their liberal agenda. Think about all the tree huggers out there like Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who don't want to drill for our own oil.

These politicians need to stop cherrypicking only the positive economic reports, written by ex-Enron economists. Because if you talk about one statistic you must talk about them all. I believe the price of gas and heating oil because I am paying the bill. I believe the $4 billion a day deficits we are running up every day. To joyfully proclaim and take credit for an alleged improvement in the unemployment rate is a joke. Hapless Harry forgets to mention that each new job added because of the stimulus has cost the taxpayers about a quarter of a million dollars per job.

Change we can't believe in.

At $3.65 per gallon, this little limo fits the bill.

Good point...these blowhards need to take ownership of all the economic news...both good and bad. Don't hold your breath.
