9/11 Health and Compensation Bill Passes: Where was the EPA?

The 9/11 Health and Compensation Bill passed the Senate. It was "trimmed" to only $4.2 billion. This sounds like a lot of money for so few people. Is this a prelude to how expensive Obamanable-Care is going to cost?

Two questions about this 9/11 health problem:

1. Where was the dogmatic EPA right after the 9//11 attack? Why didn't they examine the site and make sure the workers had the proper equipment to work at ground zero. What, the EPA was too busy drafting MPH regulations or worrying about global warming? Or maybe they were spending all their time at abandoned gas stations taking soil samples and writing reports no one wants to read. If they had been PRO-active, we could have avoided many of these health problems. Any one with half a brain knew this was a "hot", toxic site.

2. Why can't Obamanable-Care take care of this problem? Doesn't the 2,000+ page health care legislation include the mandate that no one can be denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions? Also the life-time cap on health care expenses was also eliminated. The liberals had a chance to destroy a couple of health care companies if they had told the workers to follow the new health care bill's mandates. But why bother - it's  only another $4.2 billion, chump change to the beltway blowhards.

The blowhards never waste an opportunity to spend our money on good intentions without thinking the process through. A photo opportunity at Christmas is more important than doing it the correct way. These lame ducks sure know how to spend our money!
