John Kerry's Tax Boat: A Tax Lesson for America

John Hubris Kerry, the multi-millionaire Senator from Taxachusetts, never met a tax and spend bill he didn't support. He subscribes to Joe Biden's declaration that it is our duty to pay more in taxes, except, in Kerry's case, when you can legally avoid them.

Kerry, in an effort to boost the economy, bought a $5 million yacht. He lives in Massachusetts, but to avoid paying the Massachusetts sales and excise taxes on the boat, which amount to about $500k a year, he now docks the boat in neighboring Rhode Island, which has no such tax. His excuse to avoid  the tax? If the boat needs maintenance, it needs to be docked in Rhode Island (which has no such boat tax).

What is the moral of the story? Yes, rich people hate paying their "fair share" of taxes and they will do what every citizen would love to do -- avoid paying them. Kerry is a typical rich liberal/progressive -- do as I say (legislate) not as I do.

John Kerry has been caught with ketchup on his face. If he had any sense, he would cut Massachusetts a check for half a million dollars. He could take it out of his wife's petty cash account at Heinz.
