Obama's Hot Air Travels to Home Depot
President Obama, the Bankrupter-in-Chief, has just visited a Washington, D.C. area Home Depot store as the backdrop for a speech today where he pushed Congress to pass new tax breaks and other incentives for homeowners to retrofit their homes to make them energy-efficient. The "Cash for Caulkers" boondoggle will replace the stupid Cash for Clunkers car program. Obama once again gives a hot-aired speech to talk about keeping cold air out of our homes. Thanks for the energy efficiency lesson, Mr. Obama. I think I'd rather watchThis Old House episodes.
In his speech, Obama told the fawning audience at the store that most of these home improvements would pay for themselves through increased energy savings. If this is the case, why do the taxpayers have to foot the bill for the lazy homeowners who want the government to pay for everything?
There will be a side benefit to this program. Since many home improvement contractors like to get paid in cash, they will have to actually report this income if the homeowners want to get the tax credits. Too bad Obama didn't mention this fact in his speech.
Cash for Clunkers, Cash for Caulkers...when will it end? I sold my Home Depot stock today. Any company that needs this liberal windbag to help it increase its sales should be shorted.
Obama's next stop should be Wal Mart where he can act like a greeter. And he should be joined by his close friends at SEIU, who can strong-arm the non-union Wal Mart employees with a card check rally.

Why Drill for Oil When We Can Caulk Our Way Out of Our Energy Problems?
