Chris Dodd, the Connecticut Coxcomb, is at it again, interfering with business. He is proposing that Americans infected by the H1N1 flu virus be guaranteed paid sick lead under emergency legislation he plans to unveil today in response to the swine flu pandemic.

(If H1N1 is a pandemic, let's hope the bubonic plague has been eradicated!).

Mr Dodd's measure is similar to a bill already introduced in the House of Representatives that is intended to ensure that sick employees do not spread the virus to others.  Dodd's office said the bill he is preparing would help people who have to chose between losing a day's pay or possibly infecting co-workers.

He claims 'the legislation will slow the spread of the disease by encouraging those who have this flu to stay at home instead of coming to work, while making it easier for parents to care for sick children or deal with school closings.

Mr. Dodd, the Dud... isn't that why people have paid sick leave as one of their benefits at work? If this socialist piece of legislaton somehow passes, there will be a pandemic all right...a pandemic of the worst workers (the slackers) calling in "sick" to take a day off for free!
