E.F. Obama Tries to Close the Health Care Sale (Again)

President Barack Obama, aka " E.F. Hutton" Obama, once again made an impassioned plea at a D.C. childrens' hospital today for his health care boondoggle. I am old enough to remember the E.F Hutton broker commercials in the 1980's where two people are talking about their stock investments at a restaurant. One says, "my broker said to buy..." The other person says, my broker is E.F. Hutton and ..." (and everyone in the restaurant stops eating and talking and LISTENS) because "when E.F. Hutton talks, you listen".

I think Obama believes that whenever he speaks, everyone is listening to him and believing him, like in the Hutton commercials. Unfortunately, for him, he is beginning to sound more and more like a USED CAR SALESMAN. Anyone who has ever had that unpleasant experience of shopping for a used car will remember getting pressured into the sale...."if you don't buy the car today, the price will be higher tomorrow, the deal will change, or, heaven forbid, the car will be sold when you come back"

Obama is trying to close the health care sale by using bogus statistical conclusions and scare tactics that our health care system will collapse if we don't pass a bill ASAP.  But he hasn't convinced the American people (at least those who have health care and pay the taxes) that his plan (whatever it is) is worth the outrageous price or the loss of our freedom of choice.

I remember this similar sales pitch back in January when the stimulus bill just had to be passed in the middle of the night or our economy would collapse. How did that Obama used car sale work out for us as the economy continues to stagnate and jobs are lost at an alarming rate?

I was having a conversation with a friend this morning about Obama's spending mania and my friend (who voted for Obama) said, "at least he is trying to do something."

This response reminds me of how liberals think. It is NOT the actual results of legislation that counts - it is the good intentions behind them that matter. It doesn't matter that most liberal legislation has unintended bad consequences because the liberals meant well when the legislation was passed.

Just look at the War on Poverty, Medicare, Medicaid - all well intentioned, liberal programs with disastrous budget implications and questionable results, considering the trillions spent on them. BUT, the intentions were good. After all, isn't that what counts -- passing legislation to make us feel better?

I read on Yahoo!.com(reuters) yesterday that his approval rating is slipping....less than half the country now is in favor of this fantasy land health care reform bill; down from almost 2/3 a few weeks ago. Maybe this 'drug addict' like spending will come to an end soon. Maybe this is why Obama relates so well to the dead beats out there with the housing problems....niether of them can manage their money. The way the economy is being managed is like someone who is almost in 4closure living on credit cards----it will be okay for a little while but wont be able to sustain itself. So why bother delaying the inevitable; at other people's expense.
