July 4th: Taking Time Out for a Tea Party - Get Off the Couch!

July 4th is a special day for America. For too many of us it is "just another day off" from work. For me it is a time to reflect on how brave, great. and fearless our founding fathers were when they declared their independence from the British. My wife, Linda Dandy, and I decided to do something different today.

We went to a TEA PARTY in Stratford, Connecticut. There were about 500 people there. Many of the people I talked to postponed their personal July 4 celebrations with family and friends to attend this celebration of freedom with a peaceful protest that began at 10 AM and ended at NOON.

Many carried American and  "Don't Tread on Me" flags. They were united in their efforts to take back America from the liberal Statists in Washington. There was a universal contempt for the Connecticut Coxcomb, Senator Chris Dodd, and the liberal, big government policies in Washington. All the speakers were respectful of the opposition yet I noticed a DEEP, QUIET, ANGER in the crowd. The America they know and love is slowly being destroyed by the Beltway Blowhards in Washington.

Most of these people vote every two or four years, like good citizens should. Now they realize they must do more and get actively involved to take back America from the liberal, big, know-it-all, statists we conservatives all hold in contempt.

The angry liberals on the left have now met their match. The Tea Party protesters have just begun to gather. Liberty and freedom were not won without a good fight. The Tea Party Protesters realize that to keep our liberty and freedom we must fight the statists with all our might. We will now get actively involved because we are mad as hell and can't take it anymore!
