Obamanable-Care and "Hardship Waivers"
Barack Blank Check Obama, the Bankrupter-in-Chief, is trying to con the American people into thinking Obamanable-Care will provide health care for all. Just who is he kidding? The number bandied about for all the uninsured is 46 million people. Let's face it, a lot of people don't carry health care insurance because they don't want it. The people who need health insurance are the people who have something to lose if they get sick.
If you have little or no net worth, what do you care if you get sick? You have nothing to lose. You have no assets to protect. The government will take care of you through the emergency room, medicaid or some other social program. That is the risk you have chosen to take. If you have assets to protect, like life savings, a house, cars etc. then you really need health insurance.
Older Americans remember back in the 1950's and 1960's that they needed health care, typically Blue Cross or Blue Shield, to protect them from a long hospital stay. In those days, a hospital stay could run you $100 to $200 a day. And you stayed in the hospital for DAYS for routine things that they now discharge you immediately.
We didn't have insurance policies for doctor's visit's or prescription drugs or for all these made-up maladies doctors now invent every day. You went to the doctor when you were really sick and paid cash or check and, if he wrote you a prescription, you got it filled and paid for it -- no insurance. Today, people expect EVERYTHING to be paid for by their health insurance - doctor visits, blood tests, hospital stays, emergency rooms, prescription drugs. You name it and most of it is paid for if you have a good plan with your employer. No wonder health care insurance is so expensive. Everyone wants every medical possibility covered with little or no co-pay.
However, if you lose your job and health care insurance and go out on your own and try to find a policy, that's where the real free market takes over. All of a sudden, all these "freebies" aren't so free anymore. So what do you do? You raise the deductible, make tough choices on coverage and open a health savings account. If you have a pre-exisiting condition, good luck.
About 90% of the people in America who have health coverage are happy with it. Most don't realize how expensive it is because the employers pay for most of it. The system of health care coverage tied to employment needs to be ended AND people with pre-existing conditions need to be put in high risk pools (like auto insurance for people who have too many accidents). We need to "tweak" the current system, not destroy it by adding millions of freeloaders who will only dilute the quality of care.
And it wouldn't hurt any to "fix" the tort system. I enjoyed the moment immensely when Obama was roundly booed by the doctors when he waffled on tort reform. What a leader, but what do you expect from a politician from Chicago?
Obama wants to expand coverage for millions more people and he keeps using the term HARDSHIP WAIVER. You know what that means. The "poor" people will get health coverage for nothing and the 90% of the satisfied covered people will get screwed by the liberals.
I will only consider "universal health care" for the U.S. if the President, Senators and Congressman ALL get the same coverage that they are proposing for us. The President and all his Beltway Blowhard buddies will have to give up their SOLID GOLD 24K lifetime medical coverage for Obamanable-Care. If they are willing to make this sacrifice and make it part of the legislation, I will consider it.
The trouble with these blowhards is that they pass legislation that never pertains to them. Screw all the liberals. The last thing the United States needs is another massive federal program that will not work. There are three good reasons NOT to consider this health care boondoggle: Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Care.
Fix these three fiscal and bureaucratic disasters first and then come back to the American people, Mr. Obama. Just who the hell are these DC Dullards trying to fool?
Don't you find it ironic that we keep re-electing these morons in Congress, even though they have approval ratings about as low as Osama Bid Laden's? Do you want a moron designing Obamanable-Care, when they won't have to participate in the program? Thanks, but no thanks. I'll take my chances with the free market. I prefer to die with my freedom to choose in tact.

With all legislation proposed by libs, the "devil" is always in the details.

I'm sick of paying for all these freeloaders. This health care idea will never pass as proposed.

This is going to promote more laziness in America, its like the dead-beat dad who quits his job to avoid paying child support. People will quit there 8.00 an hour job to get free healthcare and food stamps b/c to them it actually makes more sense. Then they get covered under unemployment and healthcare, note to self--buy stock in KY jelly.
