President Ecotopia Obama visited another job troubled town today, Newton, Iowa, to push his flawed "green job" solutions to solve our environmental and economic troubles. The President, who cherishes the adulation from our supposed allies in Europe, is being pushed by them and China to ramp up our environmental standards. Of course, there is a hidden agenda which our idealistic "green" leader does not see.

The evidence shows that in Europe carbon emission regulations come at a high price in LOST jobs and LOST competitiveness. The Europeans have had high unemployment for years -- why not dupe the Americans into joining them in this utopian quest for a greener planet? Europe figures correctly that if they can't whip us economically, they can drag us down by pressuring us to follow the same idiotic policies that have ruined them!

Most of these "green" initiatives - solar power, wind power, geothermal, biofuels, fuel cells, tidal power - are far more costly, less reliable, and unproven on a mass commercial basis. Of course, they "work" when massively subsidized by cash strapped governments. Memo to Obama -- how is that great corn-base ethanol program working to save the planet?

There is a reason the world relies on the evil and dirty fossil fuels -they are plentiful, cost effective and efficient. While the world searches for this noble goal of a cleaner planet, common sense dictates that we must continue to drain the planet of its fossil fuels. We are the only country in the world that is stupid enough to restrict the exploration of our own natural resources. We should drill everywhere while searching for ecotopia.

While the greenies and their Beltway Blowhard allies led by the likes of Pandemic theJet Setter Pelosi push this ecotopia agenda, they ignore the myths of green job creation:

1. Just what are green jobs? And what jobs will they destroy?

2. How many productive, real jobs will be replaced by bureaucrats monitoring the green agenda?

3. The green job forecasts are as reliable as any other economic forecasts - nice to read, but worthless. They always overestimate the benefits while underestimating the costs.

4. Government climate mandates will increase taxes and decrease productivity. Show me a federal mandate that has ever produced a real job and I'll show you one hundred that have killed them.

5. Utopia intentions that wish for technological progress while ignoring economic realities are doomed to failure (after wasting billions of dollars).

President Obama's first 100 days are almost up. One can only hope his whirlwind campaign to bankrupt the country is done. We can always watch Press Secretary John Gibbs push this green agenda at the daily White House press briefings. He will surely put the green agenda in trouble. Has anyone seen Joe Biden lately? Surely, he has a few pearls of wisdom to impart on us about this subject. Perhaps he is hiding in a bureaucratic bunker somewhere with his yellow highlighter, making sure the states waste their stimulus money properly.
