Dinghy Diplomacy: Enough is Enough
We are now in the third day of "Dinghy Diplomacy". These punk pirates are holding the captain hostage while the most powerful navy in the world waits for orders from the Commander-in-Waiting to decide what to do . Terrorists around the world will clearly be watching our response to these pathetic group of pirate punks.
We have two choices to deal with this problem: negotiate like JImmy Carter or give them an ultimatum to release the captain or be killed. Anybody out in liberal-land who thinks these pseudo pirate jerks are going to go away if we "bail them out" with a ransom is delusional. They will just be back for more booty when they hijack again.
Confront them now or pay a higher price later. I understand there is a life at stake with the American captain, but anyone who thinks we can buy our way out of bloodshed is just plain stupid. The only way to deal with real pirates is to destroy them. Pirates have been around for centuries. History shows the only time they stop is when they are overpowered and destroyed. For those of you who think pirates only sing songs about their credit reports being incorrect should look into the brief history of Blackbeard the Pirate. He had a glorious two year reign of terror from 1716 to 1718 until he was finally confronted, killed and beheaded by the Royal Navy.
These Somali Samurai's are nothing but lawless punks like the marauding gangs in LA and other big U.S. cities that get away with murder because we can't trample on their civil liberties.
Obama needs to take a poll of real Americans, call up the Joint Chiefs and order them to kill these four pirates if they don't release the captain. To try to "negotiate" our way out of this with a ransom payment would be a huge mistake, only to be followed by a much bigger hijacking problem down the road.
