Stimulus Inc. - Pelosi's Garbage Company
A few days ago, President Obama announced the creation of a new website called www.recovery.gov. According to the President, this website will enable all Americans to see how and where the federal government spends our money. He said: "We'll launch an unprecendented effort to root out waste and inefficiency and unnecessary spending in our government."
He then proceeded to authorize spending $460 million on family planning for Africa, a continent which has more corruption than even the great state of Illinois does. Not a good start for fiscal restraint.
The Congress just passed an $800+ billion stimulus package. All 177 Republicans and 11 Democrats voted against it . This package had Nancy Pelosi's and her left wing pals' finger prints all over it.
Examples of "stimulus":
$125 billion for public education
$87 billion for Medicaid
$27 billion to continue unemployment benefits
$20 billion for food stamps (remember when this program started out at $24 million under LBJ?)
$4 billion for community activist programs such as ACORN
What, no money for imported bottled tap water from Mexico?
The spending list goes on and on. The Wall Street Journal estimates that only 12% of the proposed funding could be considered real stimulus.
Most of this nonsense should be included in the bloated 2009 Federal Budget, not in any jobs stimulus package.
There are rumors flying around Washington that the crippled banking system might need an additional $2 TRILLION in Bailout Money. To even think about passing this pork-laden package before that bailout number is known would be irresponsible.
Too many Democrat "strategists" and "pundits" when questioned on TV and radio about this PORK PACKAGE respond by saying "We won the election, get over it. To the victor belong the spoils." They act like they got 100% of the votes. Just because the Democrats won the election does not mean they should all act like liberal left wing morons.
George Bush's Presidency showed no budget discipline. To compound his deficits with stimulative crap like this is inexcuseable.
Yesterday, Barack Obama railed against the "shameful" bonus payments given to the crooked bankers and Wall Street bandits. He was trying to strike a populist chord with the public. I agree that these bonuses were shameful and many should be "clawed back". Some of the worst offenders should be prosecuted and eventually sent to jail.
However, it is just as "shameful" to have the American people be subjected to an $800+ billion pile of stimulative garbage. The fawning liberal media has already told us that Mr. Obama's IQ is the highest ever for the 44 Presidents. If that is so, he should put down his damn Blackberry, stop e-mailing all his brilliant friends, and reject this pile of crap legislation before the Senate starts adding more dung to the pile.

Pelosi should be in the running for CEO of Waste Management. On second thought, they would be in Chapter 11 in about 3 months. She couldn't run a lemonade stand, unless it was subsidized by the federal government. What a dope!
