TV or No TV: That is the $1.4 Billion Dollar Question

Time is running out. There is a national crisis facing many Americans with older tv's. On February 17, the nation will be switching to digital television.  And the federal government hasn't printed enough vouchers. That means for the poor people in Socialist Bernie Sander's over-taxed Vermont, they will have to most likely buy a converter box so their tv's don't go "dark".

Billionaire Senator Jay Rockefeller from the clean coal state of West Virginia recently said of people who do not have the vouchers (because the government printing presses are tied up printing $100.00 bills): "We risk leaving those who are most reliant on over the air broadcast television for their information literally in the dark."

The federal government is offering $40.00 vouchers (up to 2 per family)  to help with the transition. The cost? About $1.4 billion! Only in America can we waste so much money for such a small problem. Whatever happened to adjusting to the changing world without government help?

Mr. Rockefellar, please tell your constituents to cut back on  their Lucky Strikes, cell phones, and Bellows Reserve for a while and get off their collective asses and go to their nearest Walmart and pay for these boxes out of their own pockets.

 > Where was the government when the horse and buggy was being replace by the automobile? Were there any vouchers given out then?

 > How about when the Edison invented the lignt bulb? Were people allowed to trade in their candles for bulbs with government help?

What's next, a $300.00 voucher (limit one per victim) for a new digital ready tv?

When will this stupidity stop?

NEVER.
