Remembering the Carter Years
A couple of days ago, Obama met with Bush 41 & 43, Clinton and Carter. The photo op was very interesting. Obama, the two Bushes and Clinton were all clustered together, while Carter was clearly separated from the others. Coincidence or did the other four want a "window of purity" to distance themselves from one of the worst Presidents in U.S. history?
Here is the picture taken in the Oval Office:

This is the vision I had when I looked at the picture more closely.

Today's Beltway Blowhards like to constantly remind us how today's economy is "the worst since the Great Depression". How quickly they forget the Carter years (1976 -1980) - the long gas lines, unemployment around 10%, prime rate over 20%, and stagflation. Mr. Carter is an honest and decent man and a great humanitarian. However, he was a lousy President.
It took bold, POSITIVE leadership by Ronald Reagan to pull us out of our economic and mental malaise. Mr. Obama should put down his books about Lincoln and read a few chapters about Ronald Reagan.

Jim--great photo. I still fondly remember the odd and even days for getting gas and the great feeling it was, after waiting in lines for hours for gas, to get your tank filled. How quickly we forget those horrible 4 Carter years!
