Caroline and New York: The Perfect Fit for a Blue State

Caroline Kennedy wants to replace Hillary Clinton as Senator from New York. She is a perfect fit for the following reasons:

> It will be interesting to see how the fawning liberal media scrutinizes her qualifications to be a U.S. Senator (although the standards are not that high). The main stream media couldn't wait to pound away at the conservative Governor Sarah Palin for being "unqualified" to be Vice President (while ignoring the many gaffes of her opponent, the Beltway Blowhard, Joe Biden). Let's see how they treat the neophyte Caroline, a true limosine liberal.

> Even though her resume is very thin, she is a liberal Kennedy so she is a perfect fit to represent one of the bluest states in the union.

> New York State just added 137 taxes to help close its budget deficit. Was there ever a Kennedy who didn't love higher taxes? High taxes don't affect people who are born with platinum spoons in their mouths. Millionaire liberals love to tax the middle class.

> Uncle Teddy could use some company in the U.S. Senate. It's time he passed his ultra left wing legislative torch to someone younger and just as liberal. Caroline can be the next  "Senator Kennedy for life".

> Charles Schumer, the senior  Senator from New York has never shied away from a microphone. It will be interesting to see Chuckie and Caroline trying to share the spotlight while trying to out-spend each other with various liberal tax and spend boondoggles.

> Caroline Kennedy was one of the early supporters of Barrack Obama for President. How ironic that she should be the replacement for the woman he defeated - Hillary Clinton. I'm sure Mr. Bill will be ecstatic to see the Kennedy dynasty continue.

President-elect Barack Obama has lowered the bar considerably for future candidates seeking higher office.
The mindless media shows some early indications of touting his administration as a rebirth of the 1000 Kennedy-Camelot Days of 1960-1963.
The appointment of Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg to replace Hillary Clinton as a senator from New York might present a conflict of monumental proportions for the New York Times, however.
A battle over who is the real Camelot is something serious, the kind of powerful story that the New York Times really can sink it's teeth into.
Depression-schmession......in 2009 the editorial(front) page might play 2nd fiddle to the Society page.
