See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil: Cox, Dodd, and Frank

Christopher "See No Evil" Cox wrote an Opinion column in the Thursday, December 11, 2008 Wall Street Journal. Mr Cox is the ghost chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. In the article, he extolled the virtues of "arms length regulation". He said his agency has three explicit goals:
> protecting investors
> maintaining fair and orderly markets
> promoting capital formation
During his tenure at the SEC, Mr. Cox has allowed hedge funds to run wild and exotic leveraged investments to be pawned off on the public. And now we have a potential $50 billion Ponzi scheme blowing up around the world, a scheme that could have been caught with ANY kind of rigorous oversight at the SEC. As a result, the SEC during Mr. Cox's reign has:
> NOT protected investors
> NOT maintained fair and orderly markets
> NOT promoted capital formation, but rather capital destruction

I endured that 60 MInutes "Puff Piece" about Barney Blather Frank last night. For close to 20 minutes Leslie Stahl told us how powerful and feared he was while glossing over his pathetic lack of oversight on the Fannie and Feddie multi-billion dollar sub prime crisis. Mr Frank is another example of a Beltway Blowhard, who has risen to power through seniority and not because of ability. What I took from this piece is that Mr. Frank is a buffoon who is full of himself and enjoys the trappings of power. He clearly does not understand how Chapter 11 bankruptcy works. He talks like Elmer Fudd and has a memory like Sargeant Schultz of Hogan's Heroes fame. And this guy is going to help decide how many billions to waste on the Shrinking Three carmakers? What a joke. Nice job, Mr. "Speak No Evil".

These two Potomac pontificators have been added to the Beltway Blowhards WALL OF GALL. They join the Connecticut Coxcomb, Senator Chris Dodd, Mr. "Hear No Evil".
These three blowhards are prime examples why the U.S. taxpayers continue to get screwed by their own government. We all deserve better, MUCH BETTER. It certainly cannot get much worse.

Jim Dandy, I take offense at your comparing Barney Frank to Elmer Fudd.
Jimbo, I know Elmer Fudd, and Barney Frank is NO Elmer Fudd.
Furthermore, there is nothing funny about the way Elmer Fudd talks. My wife says that all the time. Gee, I wonder what she means?
Oh well, got a dinner with John McCain tonight, his treat. I beweeve it's wabbit stew.....mmmmm.......mmmmmmm!!
