Energy Independence is a Wind Bag Away !

News Flash: IMPORTANT!

On Friday, November 21, 2008, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that she intends to reauthorize the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming with Chairman Edward J. Markey, D-Mass.

In a statement Mr "Malarkey" said: "I thank Speaker Pelosi for the opportunity to continue serving....Our committee has worked on a bipartisan basis to raise the profile of global warming and energy solutions during the last Congress and I look forward to another productive sessiion in the next two years. With a new, climate friendly administration, we have an historic opportunity to put the American economy on a green road to recovery and finally resolve the greatest challenge the planet has ever faced."

This is the same blowhard who, last April Fool's Day, 2008, grilled the 5 Big Oil CEO's with the following quote: "On April Fool's Day, the biggest joke of all is being played on American families by Big Oil."

Question to Mr. Markey: Now that the price of oil has dropped at the pump by 50% the last six months, will you be summoning the Big Oil CEO's to testify before your committee how they manipulated this oil price drop?

The only wInd power I see being developed in the U.S. is by these beltway windbags who like to talk and talk and talk while doing nothing about our dependence on foreign oil.

I just came in from chopping wood. It sure is frigid outside today. A strong wind and 5 straight days of relentless winter cold and it's only November!Yup, I'm up here in the blue state of Connecticut.

Yes, I believe Rep. Markey should reopen the Select Committee on Global Warming. After all, they took a vacation during the really warm months.

What better a display of idiocy in government is there than to debate global warming on the verge of a potentially historic bitter winter!

Sure seems like Americans don't like competent common sense people, in Washington any more......

Is America having a Charles Bronson flashback?

Wind energy - growing by the turbine. But how much do those turbines cost to build and operate compared to readily available fossil fuels (coal) and nuclear power? The answer will be revealed when rate payers see their electricity bills skyrocket.

    A few other funny tidbits:

    - usually the highest peak demand occurs when the wind blows the least, like on hot humid days of summer or frigid, dry days in the winter

    - Chernobyl wasn't our debacle. Envirofreaks needn't lose sleep over watching their children glow in the dark

    - The places with the most wind capacity are the places where rich liberals won't allow turbines to be built. like the coastline in Massachusetts, for example

    - God bless Sarah Palin. Her mantra "drill, baby, drill" inspires me not only sexually, but politically as a beacon of hope to end dependence on foreign oil

Bottom line: ALL of it should and can be used!! Bicycles, coal, wind, nuclear, biomass, natural gas, PHEV's, hydro, oil, skateboards, city buses, light rail trains, and the list goes on
